Quite unlike my more representational work, these abstract patterns are in part inspired by (a lay understanding of) science based theories on the creation of our existence and the pervading laws of the universe by which all all its components are interconnected. Throughout our history and across cultures, there have been countless attempts to express this concept of universality through spirituality and art. These patterns likewise are spurred by sensation intermingling between my physical and mental being. The forms, therefore, begin with a relative sense of order. As they extend outward they may deviate slightly more and more—reflecting ideas of mutation, evolution and the resilience of chaos. Similar to how a tree grows from a seed, these patterns branch out as thoughts blooming forth from humble beginnings.
